Parthenon, the

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishParthenon, thethe ParthenonPar‧the‧non, the /ˈpɑːθənən $ ˈpɑːrθənɑːn/  an ancient building on the Acropolis in Athens, built in the 5th century BC and known as the most famous example of a Greek temple.
