Mladić, Ratko

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishMladić, RatkoRatko MladićMlad‧ić, Rat‧ko /ˈmlædɪtʃ, ˈrætkəʊ $ ˈmlɑːdɪtʃ, ˈrɑːtkoʊ/  (1942-) a former Bosnian Serb military leader who was arrested in May 2011 for war crimes. During the Bosnian War (1992-95) he was the Chief of Staff of the Bosnian Serb Army, and he was said to be responsible for the killing of over 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys near the town of Srebrenica . He avoided being arrested for nearly 16 years.
