Rebel Without a Cause

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishRebel Without a CauseˌRebel Withˌout a ˈCause  (1955) a US film in which James Dean appeared as a teenager from a respectable middle-class family who gets into trouble with the police. As a result of this performance Dean became the most typical example of a young rebel (=someone who refuses to behave in the way that society expects).
