Royal Variety Performance, the

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishRoyal Variety Performance, thethe Royal Variety PerformanceˌRoyal Vaˈriety Perˌformance, the (also the Royal Variety Show) noun  a show which takes place every year at the london palladium, in which well-known singers, comedians, dancers, and entertainers perform in order to collect money for charity. Members of the British royal family go to this show, and it is always shown on television in the UK.
