Speaker of the House

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishSpeaker of the HouseˌSpeaker of the ˈHouse noun  the person who officially controls the meetings and discussions in the US house of representatives. The political party that has the most Representatives is allowed to suggest someone for the Speaker's position, and then all the members of the House vote on this choice.
