Srebrenica

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishSrebrenicaSreb‧re‧ni‧ca /ˌʃrebrəˈniːtsə/  a town near where more than 8,000 Muslim men and boys were killed during the Bosnian war in July 1995, by Bosnian Serb soldiers. The town was protected by UN forces, but they failed to prevent the killings. It was the worst massacre in Europe since World War II.
