Stradivarius

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishStradivariusStrad‧i‧va‧ri‧us /ˌstrædɪˈveəriəs, -ˈvɑːr-/ (also Strad /stræd/ infml) noun  a violin made by the Italian maker Antonio Stradivari (1644–1737). Violin players today consider his violins to be the best ever made, and they are extremely valuable.
