U.S. Customs and Border Protection

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishU.S. Customs and Border ProtectionU.S. Customs and Border Protection (abbreviation CBP)  part of the United States Department of Homeland Security that is responsible for controlling international trade, collecting import duties (import duty) (=tax on goods coming into the country), and making sure that trade laws are obeyed. It is also responsible for stopping people entering the US illegally and for stopping people bringing drugs and other illegal goods into the country.
