From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishCable, VinceVince CableCable, Vince /vɪns/  (1943-) a British politician in the Liberal Democrats party who became Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, and Skills in 2010 when the coalition government of David Cameron was elected into power. Before that he was Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats and the party’s spokesperson on economics.
