From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishTyler, WatWat TylerTyler, Wat /wɒt $ wɑːt/  (?-1381) an Englishman who was the leader of the peasants' revolt in 1381, a protest in which thousands of poor people marched to London to complain about their bad economic situation. He was murdered by the Lord Mayor of London.
